<li>Wash dal and add enough water to cover it in Anantha CNB’ pressure cooker</li>



<li>Add turmeric powder, one teaspoon of oil, diced mango, chopped green chillies, onion and pressure cook for two whistles in medium flame</li>



<li>Heat oil in a ‘kadai’ fry the seasonings and pour it over dal</li>



<li>Add salt, chilli powder and boil for 2 more minutes</li>



<li>Serve hot with cooked rice</li>

<li>Instead of mango, anyone of the following can be used : Diced tomato, fenugreek leaves, any keerai, Andhra dosakai or ridge gourd</li>



<li>Tamarind extract can be added according to individual taste</li>



<li>Instead of red chillies, green chillies can be used for preparing for dal</li>
